Blue Mountain International
As I was in the final year of my Engineering course, I started to explore the options for my Masters Degree. I did check the colleges and universities in India and alongside I started to explore the options of going abroad for my Masters degree. It was a mixed feeling when I think back about it now. It has been almost 10 years that I left my country and travelled over 10000 kilometres away to pursue my MBA in Canada. on one side were the feelings of excitement of going to another new country and starting my student life there. On the other hand was the thought of leaving my friends and family back home and starting to build my social circle from scratch. Today I am very happy that I chose to get International exposure and studying in a multi cultural environment. There are thousands of students like me who are in a dilemma at the end of their educational courses in India on where to pursue their higher studies. For the benefit of the readers of this blog, I shall try to highlight the benefits of moving to Canada and starting life as a student here.
One of the biggest advantages of studying abroad is that we get to explore the world and see another culture and community. now this sounds tough at the start, but this is a very exciting way to learn about the world that we live in. We learn how to travel alone, make new friendships and become stronger in our choices. We get to travel a fair bit as International students and see so many cities and cultures during our time as a student. Canada is such a vast country that it is absolutely thrilling to see so many changes in seasons and explore new cities and meet new people. This is one of the biggest learnings of my life.

The infrastructure of the educational institutes is excellent. The faculty is highly skilled. in addition to this the rain of Teacher to Students is extremely healthy and each student gets a strong guidance from the world class faculty members. the format of education here is slightly different than India. The faculty encourages us to get real life experience and solve real world issues while we study the course material. study format is more on getting experiences and real world simulation rather than just teaching the syllabus by the books.
When you study in Canada you get exposed to not just the Canadian culture but also the culture of other students who come from over 100 countries. it is a very friendly environment and the learnings about other cultures make us more receptive to new ideas, forge life long friendships and see the other communities in new light. The educational experience in Canada prepares you for a successful journey as a professional in Canada. the learnings about the culture, the market environment and the pulse of the people that we get to know as students, really helps us a long way in being Ready for Employment post the completion of our studies. This helps us to get integrated in the Job Market after the completion of studies.
I consider the study exposure in Canada as a stepping stone towards becoming global citizens. The country has a robust education system which ensures that we are prepared to take up employment in any part of the glove. Also it helps that fellow students are from so many different countries. Our mind and the power of thinking broadens because of this strong exposure and experience.
When I came to Canada I did not know many people. I had to forge new friendships and meet new people. by doing so my skillset became largely enhanced. today I am more confident, more independent and posses strong skills of Time management, Strong Work ethics and highly productive skills. When I meet young students who ask for advice from me, I tell them to be fearless and come to Canada and pursue your dreams. It is an extremely safe country and the infrastructure is excellent. we do hear stories of students being misguided and bright kids lose their time and money due to bad choices and poor guidance.
